Gem Diamonds Limited has once again unearthed a large crystal at its Letseng mine in Lesotho. The 143ct. diamond was recovered two days ago. This follows previous recoveries; a 442 ct. Type II diamond found a month ago estimated at $18 million and a 233ct. diamond.
Since Gem Diamonds acquired the mine in 2006, Letšeng has produced over sixty Type II diamonds weighing over 100 carats. The mine has in the past produced has incredibly high-quality fancy diamonds (pink and blue).
