Gem Legacy aims to raise funds scholarships for the underprivileged students

Gem Legacy, a non-profit organization supporting education, vocational training, and local economies in East African mining communities has dedicated to raising funds to support the next generation of the gem and jewelry industry in East Africa.

The Arusha Faceting Training School is Gem Legacy’s institution of choice that offers a 4-month lapidary training, gem identification and grading courses. The scholarships will be offered to underprivileged students who are eager to learn and create a future for themselves with a new skill.

In September, the Gem Legacy organization delivered five state-of-the-art precision faceting machines to the Arusha Faceting Training School equipping it to modern status. Other initiatives the NGO has supported include supporting orphans at Mwatate Children’s Home and Rescue Centre (Kenya) and students of Kitarini Primary School (Tanzania), providing mining tools and equipment for various colored gemstone miners in East Africa and many more.
