A 206 kilogram aquamarine specimen with quartz crystals was unearthed in the mountains of Pakistan in September has brought a lot of excitement from the mineral collectors and gemstone admirers.
The hexagonal aqua blue beryls striking out from the matrix base and surrounded with some beautiful quartz crystals.
A well known Pakistani gem collector and a gem dealer through his social media said that it took great engineering and skill to extract the specimens from mine with the help of some great local miners and an international crystal collector to carefully extract them intact. He added that all the other gems from the ‘pocket’ were all sold.
It is claimed that the gem was acquired by a US çrystal collector for over $ 8M.
