The late Campbell Bridges was honored the Lifetime Achievement Award presented at the ICA Congress 2019 dinner gala that was held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Campbell Bridges was a Kenyan based gem miner, gemologist and geologist born in Scotland. He was the discoverer and marketer of the tsavorite garnet in the 1960s and also a consultant on tanzanite for international jewelry company Tiffany & Co. in the 70s.
He held various positions in the industry among them; Founder Member of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), Lifetime Member of the Alumni Association of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Founding Chairman and committee member of The Kenya Chamber of Mines, registered July 2000, Former Vice Chairman of Kenya Gemstone Dealers Association (KENGEM) and Senior Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA).
